BICYCLING TO CHURCH 

Bicycling to church

I saw the ferry at the dock,

Lots of people walking,

A family with their Pyrenees,

Tourists snapping pictures,

Lovers holding hands,

Everyone taking advantage

Of opportunity on shore

And it was beautiful to see.

So I am enticed to imagine

What we might hear,

What we might see,

If we took advantage of every opportunity

To sing praises to the Lord?

It would look like rainbows

Taking advantage of rare light,

It would sound like tinkers

Making music from their scraps,

It would be like children

Laughing at the beach,

It would be more than we imagine

But not unless we dare imagine,

Then do and do and do.
