WHAT DID I SEE ON VALENTINES DAY? 

What did I see

on Valentine’s Day?

I saw that might forces long ago

pushed and folded at the earth

making mountains where there were none.

Look- there they are-

Valentines, upside down!

But I looked again and saw

a mighty, present force

far stronger than the one which made the mountains.

We look and see poverty and grief,

suffering and tragedy,

cruelty and injustice.

But in their midst we see men and women

compassion filled

laboring for mercy’s sake.

Love is the mighty present force

far stronger than the one which made the mountains,

and those persuaded by its power

make testimony free

that love goes on and on.
