PALM SUNDAY SNOW

Sin persists.

Blood is spilled
upon the earth
and it has seeped deep
into life.

But on this Palm Sunday
fresh snow has fallen,
a reminder that God will cleanse
what we have spoiled.
Here and there
just the very tip
of new grass peeks through,
a reminder
that new heaven and new earth
are on their way.

Being reminded we make snowballs
shout ALLELUIA
Then go forth
to pray for peace
make justice
and practice love.
