HOLD ON, HOLD ON
I watched the ferry
Sail by on water blue;
I watched the mountains
Emerge from morning fog;
I watched the spruce and hemlock
Adorn themselves in glistening snow.
I watched all these things
Counting every blessing,
For our is a world of beauty.
But this morning
A family gathers in grief,
The pain too much to bear.
This morning a young adult
Makes one more bad decision
And others feel the pain.
This morning I see quite clearly
Jesus dying, on the cross.
So this must be my song,
My creed, my prayer:
Hold on, hold on,
And take your strength from him.
Hold on, hold on,
Until resurrection comes.
