Ketchikan Presbyterian Church in Southeast Alaska!
Sharing God's love with every race and culture

The Rev. George Pasley has been our pastor since December 2005. Prior to coming to Alaska he served Presbyterian congregations in Kansas.

George spent his childhood years in the Midwest. His family moved to a small farm in Maryland when George was 13 years old. George graduated with a BS degree from the University of Maryland. He spent several years as a shepherd and sheep shearer before entering Princeton Theological Seminary.

George graduated from seminary and was ordained by the Presbytery of Baltimore in 1997.

George is an accomplished writer and poet, with poems published in many venues including the next issue of TIDAL ECHOES, the literary magazine of the University of Alaska-Southeast.

MEANWHILE

The rhubarb in my garden is not yet

Mature enough to harvest,

But I anticipate a pie.

The plants growing in my window

Have only yellow flowers,

But in eagerness I await

Tomatoes ripe and juicy.

The rain that falls this morn

Has not given birth to rainbow,

But any moment now

We could be quite surprised.

Many things are promised

While we yearn for their fulfillment,

But this one is kept right now:

God is with us, Jesus lives.

Therefore whatever is not yet

Can be counted good,

For love abides meanwhile.
